Lone Wolves

And so, it seems.
We did not care
Enough
We did not want
Badly
Enough
We did not understand
One another
Or ourselves
Enough
We did not have
Enough
Conviction
We were not fearless
Enough
We did not trust
In ourselves
Or the other
So…
We chose to destroy
Rather than burn
We extinguished flames
We tore down bridges
We foolishly convinced
And contrived
To walk alone
Believing
We were too wild
Too free
Too reckless
Two
Lone Wolves
Who did not need the other
So, we chose the safe road
The cleared path
The broken track
As…
We were not brave
Enough
To rip ourselves open
To taste extremes
To break our selves down
To be raw, uncut, brutal
To be real…
To feel.
To begin…
Anew
It is easier alone,
We repeat…
